Clonmel Tourism C.E. Scheme originated as Clonmel River Amenities Scheme and progressed to Clonmel Tourism after taking over the running of the Tourist Office.

On the River amenities side, we improve and maintain Stream Habitat, which in turn improves the number of fish stocks which is mainly trout and salmon. We also created and maintain river walks on the River Suir. See Slide Show.

Graveyards in Kilsheelan, Kilcash and Gammonsfield are maintained by us. As you know Kilsheelan regularly scored highly in the Tidy Towns competition!

Our participants also work in Camphill Community with Special Needs Adults, maintaining the grounds and cooking.

We have personnel placed in Kilnamac West, a residential facility for Special Needs people. They have landscaped the grounds and created Vegetable Plots. They help the Residents grow and harvest crops for their own use.

Our staff also work in the Museum maintaining the “What’s On” Guide.

We also maintain the grounds of Old St. Mary’s Church.

The Tourist Office now situated in the Main guard is manned 5 days a week by CE Scheme participents. We supply information on local Accommodation, Amenities, Sporting and upcoming events. The new Website will enhance this service.
