The Common Thread Arts and Café space on 15 Parnell Street is now open, Tuesday to Friday, 10.30am to 5pm. This is a collaboration between the 2canDo Arts collective and Clonmel Junction Festival Participation Programme and is run entirely by volunteers. It offers tea and coffee, books, games and magazines, an information point for community groups, a place to chat, discuss and share ideas, as well as rooms for arts and craft workshops and meetings. Bring your own buns, stop by for a chat, or consult our selection of books, and leave a donation. Brú Ború is a national cultural centre at the foot of the Rock of Cashel. This cultural village is designed around a village green and is a home to the study and celebration of native Irish music, song, dance, theatre and Celtic studies. It has a folk theatre, genealogy centre, restaurant and other amenities. Brú Ború traditional group have performed worldwide. They represented Ireland at Expo 90 in Japan, Expo 92 in Spain and in Shanghai in June 2010. They perform for conferences and other events. They have performed on many television networks worldwide. Brú Ború performed in China in Autumn 1998 having received an official invitation from the Chinese government.

A Warm Welcome at the Clonmel Farmer’s Market The Clonmel Farmer’s Market is a great place to visit on a Saturday morning.The market has been a very successful venture which is now in its 5th year and continues to grow with 15 stalls currently

trading There is an extensive range of food available – Siobhan la Touche stocks a huge range of organic fruit and veg.John King has juice, apples and fresh flowers.Treat yourself at the Fresh Home Baking stall brimming with homemade cakes and jams baked by Corina and Rhona.Eggs are supplied by Trevor and Sandra of  Ballinamult Free Range Eggs. All free range hens are fed on fresh grass and cereal ration and approved by Bord Bia.  Martin Lyng of Kylemore Farm sells beef, lamb and chicken produced from his own farm. For a wide range of potatoes and fresh veg, in season, look no further than Paddy Stokes from Kilsheelan.  Elizabeth and Michael Healy provide delicious gourmet pate, pies and soups from locally sourced ingredients. Indulge Bakery specialise in traditional baked breads, olives and sun dried tomatoes.Joe Condon’s organic Galloway Beef is organic blast frozen beef raised on an extensive and  hill grazing system in the Knockmealdown Mountains.Joe has won numerous awards for his beef.  Knockdrinna Cheese has a range of sheep, goat and cow’s milk cheeses produced on their farm.If its fish you are looking for Pat Hartley from Annestown sells several different species of fish. French Fine Foods from Kilsheelan produces fresh artisan breads and pastries.Caherhurley organic plants are on hand with expert advice when making your choice from their colourful selection of plants.Our newest stall is the Naked Soap Co based in Ardfinnan making all their soaps from natural products.The market has become a regular meeting place and is very well supported by the local community and visitors.  All the stall holders are on hand for advice or a chat in a relaxed atmosphere.The Clonmel FarmersMarket is worth a visit to enjoy Jurgen’s coffees and hot chocolate which have developed a cult following! The Market takes place every Saturday from 10am to 2pm in St. Peter & Pauls Primary School.

Cameraman Donal Wylde ,recently retired from R T E News is producing a photographic exhibition in Ss Peters & Paul’s Church in Clonmel. It will feature pictures of religious ,social and cultural events of the 1960s -70s taken during his time at “The Nationalist” Clonmel and is being staged as part of the parish’s Bi -Centennials Celebrations during 2010
